EDIH-SILESIA 2.0: Empowering Digital Growth for SMEs with Artificial Intelligence

The future of manufacturing and logistics is not just about new machines on the shop floor – it is primarily about data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the ability to seamlessly adapt to changing market conditions. For many Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), however, the barrier to entering the Industry 4.0 world lies in the costs and the risk of a failed investment.

That is why we are proud to announce that DBR77 is one of a key technology partner in the EDIH SILESIA SMART SYSTEMS (EDIH-SILESIA 2.0) project – a powerful initiative designed to accelerate the digital and green transformation of industrial companies from the Silesia region and across Poland.

Project at a Glance: What is EDIH-SILESIA 2.0?

EDIH-SILESIA 2.0 is a project funded under the European Commission’s Digital Europe Programme, acting as a regional and local access point to the European innovation ecosystem. This initiative directly empowers businesses to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced digital technologies.

  • Duration: 36 months (December 1, 2026 – November 30, 2029)
  • Who is it for: Manufacturing and industrial SMEs looking to boost their competitiveness, automate processes, and integrate human-centric, sustainable digital solutions.
  • Budget: The total estimated budget of the project is nearly €4 million (exactly €3,979,590.01), 50% of which is an EU grant, and the remaining 50% is co-funded by national resources (ERDF/FENG program). The budget allocated for DBR77’s activities amounts to nearly €560,000.

The “One-Stop-Shop” Model: Comprehensive Support for Your Business

The EDIH SILESIA project offers a unique, comprehensive portfolio of services tailored to a company’s digital maturity level. These are divided into four main areas, supporting every stage of your transformation:

1. Test-Before-Invest

Buying technology “blindly” is a thing of the past. This pillar allows SMEs to safely validate, test, and pilot innovative solutions, such as AI, IIoT, and automation systems in real-world conditions, without interfering with their own infrastructure. As part of this service, DBR77 helps develop and visualize Digital Twins, test smart video analytics, Remote Augmented Worker AI support, and 3D rapid prototyping.

2. Skills & Training

Technology is useless without the people who know how to use it. The project provides advanced training, workshops, and reskilling programs covering PLC programming, cybersecurity, industrial robot operation, and applying AI methods for anomaly detection and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concepts.

3. Investment Support & Strategy Planning

Every change needs to be wisely planned and financed. Project experts conduct Digital Maturity Assessments (DMA) and transition them into tailored Digital Transformation Plans (DTP). Furthermore, companies receive comprehensive consulting in applying for national and EU funding, automatically generating business plans using AI, and identifying available tax reliefs.

4. Networking and Access to Innovation Ecosystems EDIH-SILESIA 2.0

We build bridges connecting local businesses with global innovations. The project facilitates seamless connectivity with European AI innovation infrastructures, such as AI Factories, AI Academies, Regulatory Sandboxes, organize technology hackathons (e.g., AI Hackathon for Industry 4.0) and help SMEs establish business contacts across Europe through the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN).

A Powerful Consortium EDIH-SILESIA 2.0 – Guaranteeing Success

Industrial transformation cannot be done alone. EDIH-SILESIA 2.0 is an initiative driven by a powerful network of industry experts. The project is coordinated by the Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE), and DBR77 works shoulder-to-shoulder with leaders such as: Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego SA (ARR), APA Group, EMT-Systems, Technopark Gliwice, Orange Polska, CRIDO, and GAPR.

At DBR77, we believe that the gap between a “good idea” and “working automation” is bridged by data, simulation, and proper guidance. Thanks to the EDIH-SILESIA 2.0 initiative, this process becomes simpler, safer, and more profitable for enterprises.
